Located past the Municipal Complex, at the end of POW/MIA Blvd., the Edison Brute Shelter/Brute Control serves Metuchen, Piscataway, Dunellen, Highland Park, and Edison. The Edison Animal Shelter is an adoptions shelter. We have a selection of dogs, cats, and pocket-sized furry & feathered pets bachelor for adoption (look at our Petfinder.com page for a listing of all current Adoptable Animals). We do not euthanize adoptable animals. Merely those who our veterinarian deems medically unadoptable or is behaviorally unsafe are humanely euthanized by our veterinarian.

Adoption Requirements
Adopters must exist 21 years old with valid photo ID.
- We do not adopt to students.
- Adopters must not take a history of ordinance violations, losing, giving away, selling, or having animals injured or killed by moving vehicles.
- Adopters must provide proof of compliance with all applicable laws/regulations in their town of residence (eastward.g., Edison residents must evidence that their cats & dogs have rabies vaccinations and they are licensed with the township).
- All adults in the household are encouraged to visit with their new pet prior to adoption.
- Any application for a pet may require a dwelling house inspection.
- Declawed cats may not exist kept as outdoor or indoor/outdoor animals.
- If you do not own your home, plan to speak with your landlord and ensure pets are permitted in your dwelling.
- You must meet whatsoever applicable special needs requirements for the animal.

Pet Surrenders:
If you must surrender your pet, delight note the following:
* You must call kickoff and provide pet information

* All dogs must pass a temperament test. We cannot take in feral cats or dogs with aggressive behavior or bite histories.

* You must pay a give up fee to assistance with the price of intendance for your pet. If your pet is not spayed/neutered the fee will be at a higher rate.

2nd Occurrence: $50.00 plus daily boarding fee (if applicable)
third Occurrence: $100.00 plus daily boarding fee (if applicable)
Daily Boarding fee $4.00
Additional Expenses: Whatever expenses non specified or of an unusual nature shall exist charged at cost or a reasonable estimated charge (ie Veterinary Expenses, Boarding if owner is aware animate being is at shelter and fails to pick up)
ANIMAL Control: Animal Control officers are bachelor 24/7. ACOs are responsible for enforcing town ordinances pertaining to animals and investigating fauna cruelty/neglect. Services provided:
- Picking up devious dogs (either contained or running at big). We usually practice non pick up stray cats every bit many cats are indoor/outdoor owned cats. Nosotros requite them a few days to return home. NEVER FEED A STRAY CAT!
