An organization like the Placer SPCA is simply as good as our volunteers – and our volunteers are the all-time!

With the dedicated assistance of our volunteers, the Placer SPCA is able to maintain high-quality intendance of the animals and go along its life-saving work through innovative programs and services to the community. Volunteers must exist eighteen years or older. We require a commitment of four hours of volunteer service per month for at least half dozen months.

Thank you for your involvement in volunteering at the Placer SPCA! Attending the Virtual Volunteer Orientation is the first footstep toward helping companion animals notice their forever homes. Registration for orientation is required to get a Placer SPCA Volunteer.

Volunteer Requirements – Delight Read Before Registering for a Volunteer Orientation:

    • Solo volunteers must exist an developed (18+)
    • Jr. Volunteer Teams (ane parent/legal guardian PLUS a teen: ages 13 to 17). Teens MUST be accompanied by their own parent or legal guardian at all times. ***When registering for a Jr. Team spot Merely REGISTER FOR ONE TICKET under Jr. Team (this will cover for both the parent/legal guardian PLUS one teen).***
    • The volunteer delivery is a minimum of 4 hours of volunteering per month.
    • Registration is required to attend the orientation. We practise not accept drop-in attendees to these sessions. ***Delight do not share the Zoom link with others.***
    • All available volunteer roles are listed below. If y'all exercise not see a position that suits your interest, please bank check back at later time. ***Merely register for a volunteer orientation if y'all are available for the current volunteer roles listed.***
    • No refunds or transfers to other orientation dates.
    • Additional virtual grooming is required before volunteering/fostering with animals.
    • Volunteers must practice 6′ social distancing while volunteering on campus.
  • Placer SPCA does not offer court-ordered volunteer hours.

Foster Volunteer

Foster Volunteer

Many of the animals that come up into the Placer SPCA end upwards needing to spend fourth dimension in a foster home. While a majority of the foster needs are for kittens, our dogs, cats and critters besides benefit from foster care to recover from illness or surgery, get a break from the stressful shelter environment or work on behavior issues.

Dog Habitat Socializer & Walker

If y'all're looking to heighten the visitor experience and work directly with our dogs, this is the volunteer position for you!   • Canis familiaris Level ii – Out & About

You must laissez passer a hands-on skills test to get an official Out & About volunteer. True cat Socializer

Austerity Store Volunteer

Thrift Shop Volunteer

We're always happy to welcome fun, new people to join our team! We can use your skills to sort, price, display, cashier and work with customers. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and commit to one 4-hour shift per calendar week (i.e. Every Monday from (9:30am-1:30pm).

    • Attend Thrift Store Training
